ATLANTIC CITY — Tomorrow night, one of the biggest pop stars on the planet plants her flag on the Jersey Shore, and if you’re not already a little excited about that, let me try to change your mind.

Shakira brings her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour 2026 to Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall on Friday, July 25 — the same tour that’s been packing stadiums across two continents, landing for a night on a boardwalk in South Jersey. There’s something wonderfully New Jersey about that. The global superstar circuit makes its stops in the London arenas and the Miami spectacles, and then it comes here, to a hall that has been hosting the improbable and the unforgettable since 1929.

A room built for this

That building matters to this story. Boardwalk Hall isn’t some anonymous modern box. It’s a room with a nearly century-long memory — it has held championship fights, Miss America crowns, and just about every kind of act you can name, under a barrel-vaulted ceiling that used to be the largest in the world. And then a booking like this lands and reminds you that the room was always good enough. And South Jersey does show up. This isn’t a crowd being bused in from three states over. This is our shore, our night, a chance to see a genuine icon without the trek up the turnpike or the New York markup on everything. A working family from Cherry Hill or Vineland can make it a night out and be home before the sun’s fully up.

Women no longer cry

The tour’s title translates, roughly, to “women no longer cry,” and Shakira has built this whole production around endurance, reinvention, and refusing to be counted out. Fitting, honestly, for a venue and a city that keep getting written off and keep drawing the biggest names anyway.

So if you’ve got a ticket, get down there early and take a second to look up at that ceiling before the lights drop.
